I was wondering if a 2004 cavalier ecotec engine would fit in my 2002 cavalier with some to no problem. Any help?

yes it will you will need the 2.2 ecotec engine and engine mounts, engine engine wiring harness and the trany look on j-bodys and there a how-to

the 2002 cavalier had a sfi engine not the ohv

The 2002 Cavalier that I have is a 2200 SFI OHV. Either way, I am ready to swap this P.O.S engine for a new one. Thanks for the help, and reassurance.

the ohv is a strong engine just not quick the sfi you can call it what you wont pos, crap, slow, dead waight lol. your love the power with the ecotec it strong as crap can handel 300 hp stock and has a big aftermarket

Actually 2002 was the first year that the Cavalier got the Ecotec motor. It became standard in 2003 but a few of the Cav's got the motor the year before that. I don't know much about changing it up but I imagine it's some work. I'm pretty sure the Eco is a bit bigger of an engine than the OHV anyways.
