Issue: Pass. side power window in 02 cav wont go UP.

I have been having this same issue as previous posts.
The passenger side window wont go up but it WILL go down (easily).
Driver's window works just fine.

I took the door panel off and listened for noise.
I hear a click in the door when the faulty window goes down -
but when I push the switch to raise the window- no similar noise.
I have also tried to pull up the windows- it only moves up a half inch or so.

Is this a problem with the motor or the power window switch? (located in the middle console between both seats.

If it's the switch- I haven't found any good posts on how to take the switch apart and fix.

I'm a newbie. Not mechanically inclined but willing to try.
If it's a quick fix I think I could be ok taking it to a mechanic.

suggestions please.
and thank you in advance!

Most of the time the motor is bad if the window will not go up, but will still go down. The motor is riveted to the regulator and the regulator is also riveted to the door. You can lower the window to a spot low on the door to remove the 2 nuts that hold the window to the regulator. Then if you are doing this yourself you either have to drill out the rivets or grind the heads off to remove the regulator. The door arm rest also has to come off as there is a rivet under this. Make sure you look at how the part comes out as you need to have in this position to reinstall after putting the new motor on the regulator. You can put these in with small 1/4' bolts, but I would recomment getting the right rivets. If you dont have the right tools to do this, dont try just take it to someone that can do it right.

Default Power Windows

I've been having a problem with my driver side power window, that gradually gets worse.

The Window has a hard time going UP. It goes DOWN fine, but when you hit the switch to go up, it starts to, then seems like its losing alot of power and gets really weak, then 6/10 times, it just stops, midway up. Then if you wait a couple mins it goes up a little more, and stops. Like it almost has to "recharge" or something.

Do you think it's the:

Switch
Fuse
Power Window Motor

I'm thinking the motor, because my other window (Passenger) goes up and down fine.

Thanks for the input.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'd bet on the motor. The same thing happened to my '03. I've got a couple of motors if you're interested. Brand new.

Okay. You shouldn't have much trouble finding one. Get the regulator and all too.

LOL I hear ya'. I've got a coupe so I only needed the two anyway. I was lucky though, my extended warranty paid for the whole repair. That alone made the warranty worth it.

Yeah, my 02 kind of quit all at once, 300 miles from home. I did manage to get the window closed by pulling on it while it was going up. I just replaced the motor, much bigger job than the whole thing. PITA either way.
